The Rise in new to Cruise Start-ups to find the next ‘4 million new to Cruise passengers’

According to a recent report from CLIA, the cruise industry will need to attract interest from a further 4 million ‘new to cruise’ people to fulfil the capacity demand.  This is due to a whopping 44 new ships being launched in the next 5 years, 14 of these will enter our waters around the globe during 2023.

There are few industries where the growth is so clear to see.  This is certainly appealing to both travel business’ entering this sector and entrepreneurs seeing a gap in the market. These new ships, will provide a further 19% more capacity to the growing Global Cruise market. Attracting new cruisers is a really hot topic for all cruise lines.


Rapid Growth and Changing Perceptions: Cruise Industry Expands its Horizons

Over the last 10 years, Cruise has been the fastest growing segment of the Travel industry. Although it remains still a small segment of the overall leisure travel industry, the growth in demand and the innovation at sea is hard to ignore. What was once seen as a holiday for the older market, now commands an average passenger age in the 40’s. The other clear area of growth, is the rise in families seeing this as a viable alternative holiday. New entrants to the market, brands like Virgin Voyages are also really opening this product up to new potential cruisers and this is vital for the industry.
