Last week, the Traveltek team came together at the prestigious Blythswood Square Hotel in Glasgow for three days of intense pitches, strategic planning and a touch of karaoke.
Executive Team Take the Lead
Chief Commercial Officer, Cressida Sergeant led the event. In addition, Traveltek Chief Operating Officer, Phil Astall, Chief Technical Officer, Kenny Millar, and Chief Marketing Officer, Susie Lawler were also present. Each Exec Team member gave a presentation to the group, detailing all of the progress from 2018 and the exciting new plans in the offing for 2019.
The focus of the first day of the conference was on Traveltek’s continuing, ambitious global expansion plan. With sales teams in APAC, UK, Europe and USA, each one presented their specific regional sales plan for the year to create a strategic blueprint. Additionally, Cressida gave each sales specialist the task of creating a real-life pitch for a perceptive “panel” (made up of the most discerning critics – their colleagues). Each had one hour to wow the panel with their presenting prowess. After each speech, all of the audience members gave the presenter some constructive feedback.
In addition, the Group Product Manager, Chris Brown, also joined the team. He talked through the 2019 product road map, revealing some very exciting plans for the coming year. These included an innovative new product which will empower agents to do something they’ve never been able to do before in the world of tour operation. The website development team also gave a presentation to showcase the enhanced framework which will benefit both existing and future client site builds.
All Work, No Play?
While there was certainly a lot of hard work over the jam-packed three days, the Traveltek team still managed to let its hair down on the final night with a few drinks and a spot of “Summer Lovin” on the karaoke. All in all, a very successful global conference!
