We had 60 seconds to ask Claire Thomson, Product Manager, some quick-fire questions. Here’s what she had to say:
What part of the world do you call home? I moved around as a child, as my Dad was in the RAF, so Glasgow is the longest place I have lived anywhere. And after 15 years, it definitely feels like home.
What was the name of the last book you read? The Smartest Giant in Town. Can you tell I have young children!
What is your favourite holiday destination? It’s so hard to pick one! New Zealand is up there with a trip that had the most magical moments. Bungee jumping, glacial Lakes and watching some clumsy albatross landings! A regular holiday destination of mine is Poland. Poland keeps surprising me each visit, with its beautiful beaches, mountains, and cities.
All-time favourite movie? Sorry to all film buffs out there…. P.S I Love You
Favourite type of food? I would find it easier if the question was what food don’t you like! I love so many Polish dishes, and one of my favourites is called ‘Placek po zbójnicku’ (beef goulash with potato pancakes and sour cream) – it is delicious.
You only joined the Traveltek family in February. What three words would you use to describe the culture at Traveltek? Supportive, friendly, and motivated.
Before joining Traveltek, what other sectors have you previously worked in? I have only ever worked in the travel industry. I started as a Travel Agent over 20 years ago, then moved to a Tour Operator. Then 13 years ago, I jumped over to the technology side of travel and have never looked back.
You have joined the Product Team working with Leanne Woolvine. What projects are you most excited to be working on in the coming months? It is an exciting time to have joined Traveltek, especially as we have begun working on the product roadmap in relation to upgrading the products, which will greatly improve Traveltek’s customer’s user experience.
